DESCRIPTION:
Seth Thomas, Plymouth, Conn., Circa 1825, 30-hour time/strike wood movement pillar & scroll shelf clock, with a later tablet of Mt. Vernon.
CONDITION:
refinished mahogany veneered case in nice clean condition. Both scroll tips have been repaired. Feet and front skirt are original. Door glasses have been replaced, and Washington's home would not have been a subject at the time {looks fine}. Original painted dial is very clean with some minor wear. Hands are original. Movement is correct. Finials are modern replacements and not the proper type for this maker. Note that the verge is lacking, otherwise movement is complete and sound. Ht 29.5"
